R.I.P. Stableford Scoring

The International tournament in Denver will be coming to an end after this season. Too bad. It was a fun tournament to watch on T.V., great scenery, etc. Also it was the only tournament that used the modified Stableford scoring system. This encouraged daring shots and resulted in many a birdie-fest. One of my earliest memories of golf was me asking my dad why the scores for this tournament were so high when I saw the leaderboard on T.V. when I was about nine. He didn't know... what an idiot.

The tournament just couldn't find a sponsor willing to pony up the $7-9 million it would take. This is the same reason I decided not to buy 7-9 million items off the Wendy's Dollar Menu.
